Conyers and the New York Times

There is a small article in the New York Times today titled "Lawmaker seeks inquiry into Ohio vote". Yes, John Conyers has made an official request to the FBI to look into voting irregularities, particularly during the recount (mainly in relation to an affidavit from a county deputy director of elections mentioning a questionable machine adjustment moment). It looks like, while all the forums Conyers has been holding may have been informal, they've had enough name-power behind them (himself, Jesse Jackson and the GAO) that they are finally getting heard about. You can see the Olbermann response and the links to that article as well as to an article in the Washington Post at:

IN THE MEANTIME...

I think I mentioned yesterday that three Medals of Freedom were given out...to Tommy Franks, Paul Bremer and George Tenet. I'm still wondering what they did to deserve medals of freedom..oh wait, they said "Iraq? YEAH, that's a GREAT idea!"

Here's the top headline for the "DUH!" file today. Front page of the New York Times: "Missteps Cited in Kerik Vetting By White House" You think? Please welcome those folks to the Center of the Obvious.

In the "articles that catch your eye category" we have this headline at cnn.com: "Jenna Bush to teach at DC Public School"

http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/12/15/jenna.bush.ap/index.html

www.wonkette.com

(I include the wonkette link as there are more details about where she will be teaching so you can decide whether or not you really want to send your child to that school)
That's right, she's thrown away the fake ID's and is out to mold minds and profess to our impressionable youth. (...wait...sorry, okay, I've stopped laughing now...can i help it if my first thought is her teaching kids how to make really pretty jello shots in arts and crafts?)

And what will Jenna be doing when not teaching? E-MAILING!!!! That's right, remember to e-mail your friends, family, the press and your Congressfolk so they know that you are paying attention and what this all looked into! It's in the Times and the Washinton Post and needs to be elsewhere, so pass it on, pass it on, and pass it on.

Peace --Alex
